The first thing we would like you to know about us is that we are here for the right reasons. Our first and every thought is for the one that you have lost, and the journey that is ahead for you as a family.

Barringtons is owned, managed and run by Nikki Field and Lisa Weeks. We are life-long family friends, born and raised locally, with a wealth of experience in the funeral industry and local community life.

In 2018, and within six months of each other, we both lost our own mums to cancer. The sadness and feeling of being lost that followed, can only be described as heart-breaking and overwhelming. Despite our years of experience in the funeral industry, it seemed that nothing had prepared us for the emotions or the process that lay ahead.

It made us realise how complicated and confusing dealing with the loss of a loved one must feel to others, and knew that we could offer a better, truly personal service and much lighter experience that is genuinely from the heart.

In an industry that can often feel old and austere, we are proud to say that we are ‘First Generation’ Funeral Directors. We have chosen to do this with our eyes and hearts firmly focused on the genuine needs of the families of today, based on our own experiences of what we felt was missing when we lost someone irreplaceable. Our beautiful, light premises reflect this and we hope that our open approach helps you to feel immediately comfortable and safe when you come to see us.

The local community that we all call home is a beautiful and vibrant place. Our ethos is to care for the whole family, both those who have passed, and those who are doing their best to honour the loved one they have lost. In today’s world, funerals do not have to be generic. They can be anything you want them to be and we are here to help you to decide what suits your family with the many options available.
