Not your average funeral directors – 50 Hockerill Street, Bishop’s Stortford
We have fully renovated our premises in Bishop’s Stortford to help create a lighter and calming environment, so that we can meet you in peaceful surroundings at what is often a very stressful and emotional time.
Our bright and open front office leads to a private lounge area, with a comfy sofa and chairs, giving you a private place to tell us about your loved one and start talking through your options.
The kettle is always on too!
Our Chapel of Rest
Just down the hall is our Chapel of Rest, where you can arrange to visit your loved one at a time that suits you. You can visit on your own, or with friends or family for support, and you are free to come and go from the room as you wish during your visit, should you feel the need to take a private moment.
Our Chapel of Rest is lit with candles and gentle lighting and is a totally private room where you can sit and be with the one you have lost. If you let us know, we can have their favourite music playing in the background for your visit, too.
Where is my loved one when they are not in the Chapel of Rest?
For many, knowing that their loved ones are nearby is an important factor when choosing a funeral director. Please be rest assured that your loved ones will be in our care in our Bishop’s Stortford premises and looked after by our small and trusted team, as if they were members of our own family.
You are welcome to bring in personal items such as photos, toys, or favourite blankets, to be with them during their stay with us.
It is important you feel comfortable with the people who are looking after the one you have lost, so if you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to get in touch or to arrange a time to pop in.
